Paintabout, a visual arts and tourism adventure from Sara Zak, is launching with "The New York Paintings: a visual ode to New York State."  The plan is to explore and create in each each of New York State's 62 counties.  Like a walkabout, Paintabout derives its inspiration from traveling, random decisions, a desire to connect, and express joy in our lived environment through visual means.  Upon visiting each NYS county, Sara interviews locals to find the visual heart of the county, she conducts a visual travelogue of her explorations, and coordinates a community plein air painting/drawing event at a noteworthy location.  Sara's son and daughter are video and social media collaborators on this project.  Eventually work from the live events will be eligible for  inclusion in a traveling exhibit.
